West Point, Ga., May 8, 2012 – On Saturday morning, 33 team members with Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) participated in the 2012 Great American Cleanup by volunteering for a community service project in cooperation with Keep Troup Beautiful.
Team members picked up litter across the city of West Point and spread pine straw around city trees in the downtown area. The group was assisted by Thomas Scott of the City of West Point Public Works Department.
In all, the team members collected 35 bags of trash and worked hard to help maintain the good health of the trees in downtown.
“Our team members recognize how important it is to give back to the community which has been so good to us,” said K.S. Kim, KMMG’s Executive Vice President and COO and one of the 33 KMMG cleanup volunteers. “I am really proud of the effort our team members put forth this morning to help beautify the city of West Point. We hope to have more opportunities like this in the near future.”
