KMMG Donates to Regional Bound WP Recreation Team

West Point, Ga. August 4, 2011 – On Wednesday, Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) presented a donation to the West Point Parks and Recreation Department’s 16-and-under baseball team who will be traveling to the Regional Tournament in Viera, Fla. after winning the Georgia state championship.
“We are so proud of the accomplishments of this team and wanted to show our full support,” said Randy Jackson, KMMG’s vice president of human resources and administration. “Making it to the Regional is quite an accomplishment and we congratulate the team on a fine season.”
West Point Parks and Recreation Director Mike Pitts thanked KMMG for continuous support of the city’s youth sports activities.
“On behalf of each of our teams, I’d like to say thank you for the support this summer,” said Pitts. “It has been a very successful season that we wouldn’t be able to make possible without support from companies like KMMG.”
Representing the state of Georgia, the West Point team will begin pool play on Friday at 1:30 pm EST against Tennessee. After pool play, single elimination games will take place in the semifinals beginning Monday, Aug. 8. All West Point games will be broadcast live on WCJM Radio 100.9 FM.
In addition, KMMG also recently donated to the 14-year-old Dixie Boys All-Star baseball team from LaGrange who also won the Georgia state championship and advanced to the World Series in Beaufort, S.C.
