KMMG Donates to West Point Parks and Recreation Department Softball and Baseball Teams

West Point, Ga. —Today, Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) presented a $2,000 donation to the
West Point Parks and Recreation Department softball and baseball teams who are advancing to state tournaments across Georgia over the next week to help with some of the expenses for the trips.
“We are happy to be able to give back to the community whenever possible,” said Randy Jackson, KMMG’s vice president of human resources and administration. “All of these young athletes have worked very hard in their sports this summer and we are proud of their success.”
West Point Mayor Drew Ferguson IV thanked KMMG for the donation and for being a true partner for the city.
“KMMG continues to be a very supportive and committed partner for the city of West Point,” said Ferguson. “I want to thank KMMG for the donation and congratulate all of our teams for their hard work this year.”
The 16 & under boys baseball team will be traveling to Augusta (July 14-17), the 16 & under girls softball team will be traveling to Monroe (July 16-19) and both the 12 & under and 10 & under girls softball teams will be traveling to Elberton (July 16-18) for state tournament action.
Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) is the first manufacturing site in North America for Kia Motors Corporation based in Seoul, Korea. KMMG is located on 2,200 acres in West Point, Georgia, and began full mass production of the 2011 Kia Sorento on November 16, 2009. At full capacity, the plant will have the ability to build 300,000 vehicles annually. The 2011 Kia Sorento is assembled in the United States from U.S. and globally-sourced parts.
