(West Point, GA.) June 27, 2013 – Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) will suspend production starting Monday, July 1 for its annual one-week summer shutdown.
Shutdown provides an opportunity for maintenance and for other departments to perform tasks and special projects that are not possible during a rigorous three-shift production schedule.
“We hope our team members and their families will enjoy this break together and return relaxed and rejuvenated,” said Randy Jackson, KMMG’s vice president of human resources and administration. “Team members have again put forth a tremendous effort during the first half of 2013. We are excited about coming back and continuing to meet our goals together as one system, one team.”
Regular production will resume at KMMG on Monday, July 8 at 6:30 a.m.
